In determining the maximum salary that can be paid to a special education school’s executive director, assistant executive director, and chief financial officer, SED publishes each year the median salary paid to executive directors (ED) and assistant executive directors (AED and CFO) as well as the average fringe benefits for school district’s statewide. There is always a lag in SED’s posting of the “BEDS” data, as SED refers to it, as it takes time for information to be gathered, calculated, and posted. Currently, the most updated information on the site is the 2015/16 prospective rates. As SED updates the BEDS information, we will update the attached spreadsheet it post it to our website.
Please remember, the median salaries are purely for SED purposes. If your agency has other funding streams, other limitations on executive compensation may exist (such as EO-38). This analysis does not contemplate any other salary limitations. In determining compensation, remember to consider not just your executive salary, but also executive level fringe benefits.
