January 15, 2016 – Bohemia, NY – Cerini & Associates, LLP, Certified Public Accountants, announced that Edward McWilliams, CPA was promoted to the position of Manager. McWilliams, who has been with the firm for the last two years, provides tax and business advisory services to a variety of mid-sized businesses on Long Island including: physician practices, technology-based companies, construction contractors, service professionals, and real estate entities. “Achieving this career milestone is an important accomplishment for Ed. He is a representation of the next generation of talent leading the firm on an ambitious growth plan” said Tim McHale, CPA, Partner.

Alongside McWilliams within the firm’s tax and business advisory practice, Jacob Lutz, MBA was promoted to the position of Senior Tax Accountant. The firm continues to demonstrate strategic opportunities for committed team players like Lutz, who began his career as an intern. Also, the tax and business advisory practice recently hired Joshua Williams and Kayla Vigorito as Staff Accountants. Williams, a graduate of SUNY Old Westbury, and Vigorito, a graduate from Dowling College, are both highly dedicated tax professionals committed to their new career at Cerini.

Cerini is also thrilled to announce the recent promotions and new hires within its Education practice area. Albert Borghese, CPA was promoted to the position of Supervisor. Borghese directly supports Ken Cerini working with the firm’s ever-increasing Special Education client list. “Being one of the top three CPA firms in New York State that services the special education sector does not happen overnight. Al is the highly-qualified, committed professional who has proven himself over and over again in providing significant value and expertise to his special education clients,” said Ken Cerini, CPA, Managing Partner. In addition, Lindsey Johansen was promoted from Staff I to Staff II Accountant and Danielle Skura, a graduate of LIU Post, joined the Education team as a Staff Accountant.

Furthermore, within the firm’s nonprofit audit practice area, Nicholle Mezier, CPA, MBA, was promoted from Staff II to Staff III Accountant and Peter Raimondi was promoted from Staff I to Staff II Accountant.

Lastly, within the firm’s marketing department, Kristina Laino, a graduate of Briarcliffe College, joined as a Marketing Assistant/Graphic Designer.
