The NYS Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services (DHSES) has made available a total of $20 million nationally under the Nonprofit Security Grant Program. Each eligible nonprofit organization within the New York City Urban area (includes the Cities of New York and Yonkers and the Counties of Westchester, Nassau and Suffolk) that applies can receive up to $75,000 in funding. Funding will be awarded to support those nonprofit organizations that are at high risk of terrorist attack due to their ideology, beliefs, or mission. The grant program is designed to promote collaboration in emergency preparedness among public and private community representatives, as well as among State and local government agencies. Applications are being accepted through March 28, 2016 through the New York State’s Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services’ electronic grants management system (E-Grants).
